Document Description
This project will masticate approximately 10 acres of brush, dead material, and small trees owned by the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District. The goal is to reduce the fire hazard by removing ladder fuels and breaking the ground fuel continuity. The overstory consists of conifer groups with large openings between - and these openings are dominated by brush or thickets of saplings. No perennial or seasonal watercourse in project area. No commercial product will be removed and adequate stocking of young trees will be left on site.

Only brush or small trees will be removed, ground disturbance will be minimal, and any soil disturbances will be covered with the chipped material. Cut brush will retain its root structure and re-sprout to reduce erosion. There will be no recreational, wildlife or archaeologicali impacts tot he resources.
