Document Description
The project is limited to maintenance dredging of sediments from in front of the existing docks as its East Complex (Dock 8) to facilitate access of deep draft commercial vessel traffic. The Port shall dredge the project site to the baseline of the Port areas at a depth of 35 feet below mean lower low water (MLLW). Maintenance dredging activities shall remove approximately 10,000 to 15,000 cubic yards of material, including water. Dredging material will be removed by hydraulic dredge and transported via pipeline to be placed on Roberts Island No. 1 dredge placement site. The area dredged shall be approximately 7.73 acres and the spoils shall be deposited over a 40 acre area in uplands on Roberts Island. Issuance of a Streambed Alteration Agreement Number 1600-2010-0340-3 is pursuant to Fish and Game Code Section 1602.
