Document Description
Habitat will be restored in selected areas at Red Rock Canyon State Park in order to reestablish native vegetation, stop erosion on steep slopes, protect native wildlife including Threatened desert tortoise, and prevent further damage from vehicle trespass. Restoration sites include closed vehicle routes, eroded hill climbs, illegal camping areas, and vehicle trespass routes. Veritical mulching will be installed, which consists of planting branches of dead trees and shrubs. These newly planted "shrubs" mimic natural vegetation and blend into the landscape, disguising trespass routes.
