This project involves the ignition of grass on the west face of Coyote Dam at Lake Mendocino for firefighter training in firing techniques and handline construction. The project encompasses an ~30-acre area. In addtion, this burning will permit dam inspectors to better view the earthen portion of the dam for annual dam structural inspections.
