Syar Industries has applied to mine sand and gravel in the terrace areas of Stony Creek. Excavation of sand and gravel will be done to a depth of approximately 50 feet mining up to 1,000,000 tons of aggregate per year. A processing site will be constructed on APN: 044-320-011 which includes scales, a vehicle refueling area, and the re-establishment of a railroad spur. Aggregate will be shipped off site via haul trucks and rail cars. It is anticipated that the project will be about a 30 year life.
