Present Land Use
Land use within the project site vicinity is open space and single family homes located on relatively large lots. Existing zoning is R1A-9,000 (one family dwelling mountain resort 9,000 square foot minimum lot size) and W-1 (watercourse, watershed and conservation areas.)
Document Description
The proposed project consists of upgrading of the existing surface water treatment plant facility, located at the District's existing building along Fern Valley Road, and construction of a pipe yard and a shop on the District's property located at the north end of Lodge Road and on the Westside of Fern Valley Road, within the unincorporated mountain community of Idyllwild in Riverside County. The District proposes to remove and upgrade the existing multimedia filters, cartridge filters, and bag filters with a new filtration system, and to replace the existing on-site chlorine generation equipment and bulk reach chlorination equipment with a single on-site chlorine generator. The New filtration system will be located next to the granular activated carbon treatment vessel, within the building currently used by the District as a shop for storage and occasional equipment maintenance. Therefore, the District is also purposing to build a shop to store all equipment being displaced by the new treatment plant and a pipe yard to store miscellaneous pieces of pipe.
