Document Description
Re-engineer backcountry roads at Annadel State Park to stabilize access roads, to reduce road related erosion, and restore natural landforms and ecosystems. Stabilization will include retrieval of material side cast during road construction and placing excavated material against the cutbanks and shaping it to blend with the surrounding topography. All berms, tracks, and other surface irregularities will be smoothed to encourage free draining surface flow. Excavated material, bushes and trees will be stockpiled on-site and spread as necessary on finished surfaces. Additional road treatment includes post-construction, one-time application of herbicides, Transline and Telar to control newly established invasive non-native plant species. This project will not affect the road alignment and associated rock walls and features near the road. The road will be retained with their associated features (namely the rocks embedded in the landscape and the nearby rock walls). This project will not affect any historic resources as long as the rock features and rock walls along the side of the trails are not disturbed.
