Document Description
On this ranch there is an actively eroding gully, which is both downcutting and widening. The eroded material is being transported downslope to a pasture drainage, which results in fine sediments eventually entering the Estero Americano. The gully extends 175 feet downslope from an active, 2.5-foot wide by 5-foot high headcut. The roots of a large pine tree on a neighboring property are exposed in an area where the gully is 12 feet wide at top of bank, 4 feet wide in the channel bottom, and 7 feet deep.
