Document Description
The project involves the removal and management of contaminated soils containing high levels of lead and total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPHs) at the existing Save Mart Supermarket (Supermarket) in Angels Camp, California. As part of the expansion of the existing supermarket soil samples were collected and analyzed for total metals and TPHs. Lead levels were detected as high as 13,000 parts per million (ppm) at 2 feet below-ground-surface (bgs), TPHs were detected as high as 2,100 ppm at two feet bgs, soluble lead concentrations were detected as high as 52 ppm at two feet bgs. Soil samples analyzed at five feet did not detect the presence of lead or TPHs. Groundwater is known to exist at greater than 20 feet bgs, therefore it is not suspected that groundwater has been impacted by site-specific contaminants.
