Document Description
A grant is being requested from the Land and Water Conservation Fund to develop the recently acquired land for the purpose of developing a neighborhood park in the unincorporated community of Empire, California (Stanislaus County). The project will result in the provision of a recreational facility to an area that would otherwise need to travel a distance of approximately 3 miles to the nearest park facility. The recreational activities proposed as part of the project are picnic areas, baseball, basketball, combination soccer/ football field, and children playground equipment. Additional site amenities include a restroom facility, accessibility walkways, drinking fountains, security and night lighting. The Stanislaus County Parks and Recreation Department has purchased the land for the park, LCWF funds will be utilized for development costs.
