Document Description
Replace existing non-accessible shower complex (3 buildings) at Lake Oroville State Recreation Area- Loafer Creek to provide improved services and ADA access. New complex will consist of two buildings, each with unisex, ADA-accessible shower units. Walkways near existing buildings will be removed and areas regraded to provide accessible paths to parking stalls and camping sites. Existing propane tank will be replaced with a smaller tank at the same location. New structures will overlap existing footprints, but will be slightly larger, due to ADA and building code requirements and different layout. Location of buildings may require the construction of 6"-24" high retaining walls to stabilize the slope. New buildings will be connected to existing utility service (electric, water, sewer sytem, and propane lines). Trenches for both utility connections and building footings will be 2 feet deep and approximately 12" wide, and will occur within the footprint of the existing buildings or adjacent, previously disturbed areas. Construction will require the removal of a limited number of blue oaks (none exceeding 24" in diameter), the removal of which will not significantly impact the surrounding canopy.
