Document Description
The City of Santa Maria and the County of Santa Barbara are proposing to extend Union Valley Parkway (UVP), a 4-lane roadway, from Hummel Drive to State Route (SR) 135, to construct an at-grade connection at SR 135, and to extend a new four lane roadway from SR 135 to Blosser Road. As part of the UVP extension project, an existing frontage road, Orcutt Road, would be realigned to intersect with Union Valley Parkway and an intersection would be created at California Boulevard. The project's Area of Potential Effect (APE) includes a total of approximately 56 acres of land and extends linearly approximately 8,500 feet in length. A portion of the APE (approximately 29.3 acres) falls under the jurisdiction of the City of Santa Maria, while a smaller portion (approximatley 27 acres) of the extension project lies within the County of Santa Barbara jurisdictional boundaries, in the community of Orcutt.
